Forced cPanel Password Change

NameHero takes security very serious. If you have been notified or noticed you can no longer login to your Reseller cPanel accounts due to a forced password change, you will see this message when you click on your client cPanel icon in whm and you don't know what the 'original' password is...


And now you are stuck because you do not know the original password! The solution is below!





To reset the password so your WHM can one click into the cPanel account, do this...


STEP 1: Click the little + next to the domain to expand options... create a new password there! Save that password, you will still need it to reset the cpanel pass in steps below!



STEP 2: Now that you have reset the pass in WHM, go ahead and click on the cPanel icon and now use the same pass from STEP 1 for the 'old' password! Then use the password generator to create a new pass for the cpanel account. After you have done that, it will be resynced and you'll be able to use the WHM to one click into the individual cPanel accounts like before!





STEP 3: After you reset the pass you will be presented with this screen... go ahead and close that tab.




STEP 4: You are done! Now when you go back into WHM and click the cPanel icon it should log you right into your cPanel account!
