Thank you for being a NameHero customer! Our Reseller Plans have lead to the success of many thousands of customers just like yourself! If you have just signed up for Reseller Hosting as a new customer you have undoubtedly received a very nice discount! It is our hope you will take advantage of this very low initial overhead to kick start your business! We want you to succeed!

Upon sign up, you received an email containing your initial login to your Reseller Hosting account. This email contains important information you will need to manage your account, please print and save it to a safe location!

This help article will discuss these steps:

Setup Private DNS Servers
Adding Features to cPanel accounts
Adding a Package with Features
Adding your first account

SETUP PRIVATE DNS SERVERS FOR YOUR DOMAIN

If your domain name was registered at the same time when you signed up for Reseller Hosting you are almost done! You will just need to reference the corresponding IP addresses in the setup email. Then login to your NameHero dashboard to manage the domain's name servers. If your domain was registered externally at a different registrar there are various instructions on how to do that with the respective registrar. You will need to reach out to them to inquire how to do that.

For reference, here are some helpful links to a few of the most popular registrars:
GoDaddy
NameCheap
Network Solutions
Register.com

If you don't wish to use your free private name servers, you can use our NameHero ones or our whitelabeled ones. Just submit a ticket with the option you wish to use and we'll set your account accordingly. If this is the case, you can skip down to "Adding Features to cPanel accounts" after submitting a ticket.

For this tutorial we will assume the domain is new and registered with NameHero.

STEP 1: Login to your NameHero Dashboard, click on 'My Domains' and then click the 3 dot menu to the right of the domain and click Manage Domain.

STEP 2: Click on Private Nameservers

STEP 3: You will need to reference your setup email that contains the IP addresses for your corresponding ns1/ns2 records you will be adding here. Once you have those IP addresses go ahead and submit the form for each ns1 and the IP and ns2 and the IP. You'll submit it twice for the two different nameservers.

The IP addresses listed in this help document will differ from what is in your setup email. Please reference your setup email for the accurate IP addresses you will need to use!

Now enter the NS1 and NS2 with the corresponding IP address for your customer nameservers. You will submit this form twice.

STEP 4: After this is done, login to your WHM account. (Check your setup email or login from your NameHero dashboard!)

STEP 5: Click on List Accounts and then click on the cP icon next to your domain.

Then click the cP icon next to your domain!

In the upper right, search for 'Zone Editor' and click it. Then manage next to your domain. You will now need to add A records corresponding to the NS1 and NS1 IP addresses you added in Step 3.

That's it! You won't ever need to do this again! You are now ready to move on to managing your Reseller Account!

ADDING FEATURES TO CPANEL ACCOUNTS

STEP 1: Upper left in the search, type: feature. Then click on Feature Manager.

The Feature Manager is what will determine the 'icons' and options in your customer's individual cpanel accounts!

We are going to create 2 features to begin with. You can add more or edit them in the future.

STEP 2: You can name your new feature whatever you wish. For this example I'm calling it 'basichosting' You can add as many as you like.

STEP 3: On the next screen you can just start by selecting all and hitting save at the bottom. But you can go back in and edit these features at any time in the future to add or remove icons that are displayed in your customer's cpanel accounts.

I added a second feature called premiumhosting as well using same steps as above. You can see once you add a feature you now have the option to edit or delete it in the future.

Now that you have your features created, let's move on to creating 'Hosting Packages'!

ADDING A PACKAGE WITH FEATURES

STEP 1: In the WHM, search for packages in the upper left. Click on 'Add a Package'.

STEP 2: For this example, I'm calling it 'basichosting'. You can name it whatever you like! Give the account some 'sane' limits. It is unadvisable to give 'any' of your customers 'unlimited' quota because, one day, they will use it and it will catch you off guard! In this example, we chose 10 GB. Scroll down and choose which options you would like to offer to your customers.

When you get down to the settings, you'll see a drop down for 'features'. These are the features you created in the last section! They will appear here!

The WP Toolkit allows you to make it so you can auto install different WordPress installations upon creation of the account! That said, if you do not enable it here at package creation, when you go to add a new account in the steps below, you will have the option to install it individually for the new accounts you create.

It is recommended to include the Imunify360 Features with view reports + Cleanup. Then click Save at the bottom!

You can create as many packages and feature sets as you like using the steps above! Once done, you probably won't spend too much time doing any of this in the future. You'll mostly be adding accounts and doing basic things from here on out! You are almost done!

So far, we have your private name servers so you can use ns1/ns2.yourdomain and we have added features and packages. It's now time to add your first account!

ADDING YOUR FIRST ACCOUNT

From here on out, unless you need to adjust your packages, this is primarily where you will spend most of your time. For this example I'll be adding comentakeit.org. This customer signed up for a Basic Webhosting package.

STEP 1: In WHM click on Create a New Account

STEP 2: On the next page you will see the new hosting packages you created and a summary of what you have in your Reseller Account. Scroll down to the next section to get started!

STEP 3: It is best to keep everything 'lowercase' when you enter in the domain name. Once you type in the domain and move your mouse to the password generator it will prepopulate the username. Enter in the email address of your customer or you can leave it blank or put your own email address there. Then choose the hosting package you already created.

Leave the Imunify360 Features as you see them below.

Decide if you will preinstall WordPress for them upon account creation.

Go ahead and leave the rest default and click Create at the bottom!

Depending on the server load it might take a minute or so and once you see this screen the account has now been added!

On this screen you can copy the account details to a local location to later resend to your customer!

STEP 4: Now when you go back to List Accounts you can see the newly created cPanel account and easily access the cpanel from within your WHM without needing to login directly like your customer does.

STEP 5: Now have the customer update their DNS servers at the registrar to point at your ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com and you now have your very first webhosting customer!

In the List Accounts section you can click on the [+} next to the domain to see other options like changing the password, email address, suspend (put reason, didn't pay). You can change quota, change the hosting package or even Trminate.

Again, thank you for being a NameHero customer! We are here 24/7 to help you with your account. If any of this was not clear, feel free to either hop into Chat or open a support ticket and a real live human will help you!
