How To Add Websites To Your VPS

One of the main benefits to our VPS hosting packages is the ability to host as many websites as your resources will support.

Since all of our Virtual Private Servers are deployed on the cloud, and you can upgrade at anytime, this gives you a ton of flexibility.

Personally, I’ve always ran my own servers as I only want my websites on the server and I use SSH for many of my daily tasks.

Therefore I’ve not only designed our VPS hosting packages for reselling web hosting but also those individuals and webmasters such as myself who only want their own websites on their server.

Free Web Host Manager + cPanel License

All of our VPS hosting packages come with a free Web Host Manager/cPanel license installed. This makes things a breeze when it comes to setting up your websites/domains.

I filmed a video that shows how to add a website to your VPS step-by-step:

How To Add A Website To Your VPS

Login to the NameHero client area
Access your VPS hosting package
Login to Web Host Manager
Click Create New Account on the left
Fill out the required information
Click Create
Upload your files/install WordPress
Change you domain’s name servers

In the above video tutorial I always recommend checking your domain using our free DNS tool, DNSHero.com to make sure you don’t have any red errors (yellow is OK in most cases).

Monitoring Your Resources

Inside of Web Host Manager you can view your disk space and service status to monitor your resources as you add websites.

As a general rule of thumb, your server load shouldn’t be higher than the number of CPU’s you have. For example, if you’re on our Hero 2GB with 2CPUs your server load shouldn’t go over 2.0 for an extended period of time. If it does or you begin to notice a lag, it maybe time to upgrade to our Hero 4GB.

As a general recommendation, I like to say that the Hero 2GB VPS is best for development with Hero 4GB being ideal for production-level websites. You can then scale up from there depending on your daily traffic and resource usage.

If you have any questions or have trouble setting up your websites; feel free to reach out to our Superhero support team!
