How to Configure Outlook with Heroicmail (Basic IMAP)
Outlook has been around for decades and many have come to love it and cannot live without it! The following information is for basic IMAP configuration so you can get up and running with your new Heroicmail account in Outlook!
Step 1: Click on File in the upper left
Step 2: Click on Account Settings, go to bottom and click on "Manage Profiles"
Step 3: A small window will now appear. Click on "Email Accounts"
Step 4: Click on "New"
Step 5: Toggle "Manual setup or additional server type" and click "Next". On the next screen toggle "POP or IMAP" and click "Next".
Step 6: This step is where you add all the information to connect your Outlook program to Heroicmail! You'll enter your Name, email address, choose IMAP. For incoming and outgoing use: mail.heroicmail.com. Your username is your complete email address along with your password. When you have that entered in, click on "More Settings".
Step 7: Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab and check "My outgoing server requires authentication". Then click on the "Advanced" tab. (don't click OK at bottom yet!)
Step 8: Use SSL/TLS for both incoming and outgoing. Set the incoming port to 993 and the outgoing port to 465. (default is 25). Now click "OK" at the bottom!
Step 9: You will be returned back to the previous screen, now click on "Next"
Step 10: At this point, Outlook will login to the Heroicmail system and do a test send and receive to see if everything is working! If you get the green success message, click "Close". You are almost done! One more step to go!
Step 11: Click Finish! You are now done! Enjoy your new Heroicmail with IMAP mail syncing in Outlook!
Step 12: You Got Mail!!
