How To Fix Memory Exhausted Errors In WordPress
There is nothing more frustrating than seeing this error:
" Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 196608 bytes) in /home/resell/public_html/wp-content/plugins/class-wc-rest-orders-controller.php on line 1415 " .
This means the theme/plugin you're using on WordPress is using up all the memory allocated to PHP. You wouldn't believe (well maybe you would) how many times we get cursed out for this in our ticket desk!
Anyways there is no need to fret, the solution to solving this is easy!
You simply need to allocate more memory to PHP. Thankfully the solution is easy!
Unlike "traditional web hosts" such as HostGator/Blue Host, we allow you the ability easily control PHP right inside of cPanel.
No complicated php.ini files or editing your WordPress configuration file!
I've filmed a tutorial that walks you through all of this:
As you can see, solving this error only takes a few minutes and will ensure you're able to run whatever theme/plugin you want!
Also, as mentioned, I highly recommend running at least PHP 7.0. You'll have a noticeable difference in speed throughout your entire website.
Every cPanel at Name Hero comes standard with multiple PHP versions: 4.4, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, and 7.2:
You're free to select whichever one works best for your website!
The same is true for all of our Resellers, your clients have this same flexibility, which is a huge selling point!
If you have any questions with PHP selector or need more details on how to use it, feel free to leave them here!
