# How To Install Mods On Your Hytale Server

Installing mods on a Hytale server allows you to customize gameplay by adding new content, features, or changes to core mechanics. This flexibility helps create a unique server experience and keeps players engaged over time. Mods also allow your server to stand out from the standard Hytale experience, giving players something fresh and distinct to enjoy. This article will go over how to install mods on a Hytale server.

**Step 1**: Download** **the desired mod [__here__](https://www.curseforge.com/hytale). Ensure you check the mod description for any prerequisites.

**Step 2:** Go to your [NameHero Client Area](https://www.namehero.com/clientarea.php), stop the server, and select Advanced Game Panel.

**Step 3**: Head to the files tab of your server

**Step 4**: Open the mods folder

# How to Install Mods on a Hytale Client

**Step 1:** Download** **the desired mod [__here__](https://www.curseforge.com/hytale). Ensure you check the mod description for any prerequisites.

**Step 2**: Open the Hytale launcher and click on the settings icon in the top left of the launcher

**Step 3:** Click on the open directory button

**Step 4**: Find the following directory: \Hytale\UserData\Mods
