How To Install Plugins On Your Minecraft Server
Hosting a Minecraft server with friends and other players is a blast, but vanilla gameplay can get repetitive. To keep things exciting, you might want to add new features like tools, cosmetics, commands, and more.
If you’re running a Paper, Spigot, or Bukkit-based server, plugins are the perfect solution. These plugins are files you can add to your server to introduce new functionalities such as setting homes, creating an economy, adding custom items, enforcing rules, and much more. Installing plugins is straightforward and can be done easily from your NameHero Advanced Game Panel.
Here’s how you can enhance your Minecraft server with plugins.
Step 1: Go to your NameHero Client Area and stop your Minecraft server.
Step 2: Head over to the Advanced Game Panel by clicking the blue button as seen in the screenshot above within the NameHero Client Area. Here you will be accessing the Files tab to locate Plugins folder.
**Step 3:** In the plugins folder, you can upload the .jar file for the plugin. After successful upload, start your server and enjoy! (To check if the plugin installed correctly, you can type /plugins in Minecraft for a list of installed plugins).
Step 1: First, Please make sure you have an SFTP client installed. We recommend using FileZilla.
Step 2: After installing and opening Filezilla, head over to the Advanced Game Panel by clicking the blue button as seen in the screenshot above within the NameHero Client Area. Here you can also access information like your sFTP password.
Step 3: Once you access the Advanced Game Panel, head over to the Settings tab at the top. Here you will see the sFTP information you need for FileZilla.
Step 4: Open FileZilla, In FileZilla at the top of the application, you will see a section that has boxes to enter Host, Username, Password and Port. Here is where you will type in the information you obtained from the Advanced Game Panel. Host = Server Address, Username = Username, Password = sFTP password, Port = 37980.
Step 5: Once entering this information, click the quick connect button. If completed successfully, you will see files & folders on the middle right side of FileZilla. Here you will access the Plugins folder, and drop the .jar files into the folder.
After successful upload, start your server and enjoy! (To check if the plugin installed correctly, you can type /plugins in Minecraft for a list of installed plugins).
