How To Setup SMTP Authentication in WHMCS
Turning on SMTP authentication in WHMCS should be one of those 'first steps' you do when configuring your WHMCS. Doing this will provide much better mail deliverability of your notifications to yourself and your customers!
STEP 1: Wrench in the upper right, then System Settings. Then General Settings.

STEP 2: Click on the Mail Tab. At the top, click on Configure Mail Provider.

STEP 3: Choose SMTP.

STEP 4: Enter in the settings for your cPanel mailbox. If you have not yet created a mailbox, follow instructions here.
Run the test configuration. If all good, click Save.

STEP 5: Adjust any other settings in that tab...
