Palworld Known Issues & Common Fixes
Being an early access game, Palworld has a few common problems that many players and server owners encounter regardless of where your server is hosted.
This guide aims to give you a solution for any issue you may have with your Palworld server, as well as a quick summary of some of these problems along with useful information. Remember that over time, the developers will fix the majority of these issues.
Server lag on Palworld dedicated servers is not unusual right now, and the developers are aware of the issue. It is caused by inadequate CPU and memory usage optimizations, as one would anticipate from an early access game. Keep in mind that these optimization problems will most likely be fixed with future updates.
If you do find that your server is lagging and/or affected by memory leaks, there are some options available to you:
**Restarting Your Server Frequently:** To prevent memory leaks in early game versions, it’s essential to regularly restart your server. This practice ensures that your game runs efficiently, especially when you start noticing lag. We recommend restarting your server every couple hours. You can do this within the NameHero Client Area at the click of a button.

**Character Data Wipes When World/Server Transferred**
If you upload a local world to your server, the host character's data will be completely wiped as the dedicated server will take the role of the host. Unfortunately, there's no known fix for this problem without configuring and editing player files.
A workaround for this issue is to store the local host player's items in the world (a chest in game). We recommend you store the host players items, Pals, and equipment into world storage before uploading it to your server, so those can be transferred over. With that being said, the host player's experience and technology advancements will be lost with this transfer.
Palworld servers can become stuck on startup. This usually happens when recent file changes are made, resulting in broken formatting. Examples are, removing settings, adding extra line breaks, and more can cause this issue. This can be confirmed by an endless cycle of the server trying to start.
Here are some ways of fixing this issue:
Manually revert any recently changed files and settings, then restart the server.
Delete previously edited files, then restart the server to regenerate them.
Reset the entire server and reboot it so new files generate properly.
