How to Configure Gmail with Heroicmail

We get it! Sometimes you just want NameHero's reliable Heroicmail with superior email delivery but you also want the simplicity of Gmail. You can do both!

Here's how to configure your Gmail account to POP email from your Heroicmail account!

Step 1: Login to your Gmail account. Upper right, click the 'gear' icon and then click on 'See all settings'.

Step 2: Click on 'Accounts and import' tab along the top, scroll down and click on 'Add a mail account'.

Step 3: In the pop up window type in your heroicmail address, click Next.

Step 4: Confirm import emails and click Next.

Step 5: These are the recommended settings. The username is your complete@email-address. Your password. The POP Server is: mail.heroicmail.com. Use port 995.

Check "Leave a copy of mail" (highly recommended!)

Check "Always use a secure connection"

Check "Label incoming messages"

Click Add Account.

Step 6: If your username/password are correct you should see a success message. At this point, check Yes and click Next.

Step 7: Click 'Next Step'

Step 8: The recommended settings are..

SMTP Server: mail.heroicmail.com

Use Port 465 (Use SSL not TLS)

Enter your email address as username and your password.

Click 'Add Account'.

Step 9: If you have successfully entered in all the correct information on the next screen you will see a message saying you need to 'confirm' a link sent to your mailbox. In order to use Gmail to send outbound mail from mail.heroicmail.com you will need to click on this link in your email. You can click 'Close window' and wait for that email to arrive!

Step 10: You can either wait around for gmail to 'pop' your email off the server or go login to https://heroicmail.com and click the link. It will look like this... click the link...

Step 11: This will open your browser and ask you to 'Confirm'. Do so...

Step 12: Other things to be aware of.. Gmail has no 'set' time to check for your email. You will NOT have instantaneous delivery of email sent to your heroicmail address. If you are waiting for an email to come in there are two ways to force it to check for new mail.. the long way or the short way...

The short way... simply hit the refresh button in Gmail!

The longer way...you can go back to the settings, accounts and import, scroll down and 'manually' check for new email when needed.

Step 13: Making final tweaks... Go back to settings. Accounts and import. Scroll down.

Make your new heroicmail account the 'default'. Toggle reply from the same address the message was sent to. Save at bottom.

When you make your heroicmail the default, it means when you go to compose a new email in Gmail it will, by default, use your heroicmail address instead of Gmail address. You can easily change that to be your gmail by using the drop down. But the default will be the heroicmail address.

Step 14: Enjoy your Heroicmail and Gmail TOGETHER!
