How To Change Difficulty Of Your Palworld Server

Palworld Server Custom Difficulty

In single player and official servers, Palworld offers well-established difficulty options that are beloved by the community. However, these options don't apply to dedicated servers.

As a result, many server owners and operators create custom settings, as the default setup may not be appealing. This is especially important since the “difficulty” setting isn’t fully recognized in Palworld dedicated servers. Hopefully, this will change in the future. In the meantime, you'll need to manually configure your settings.

Whether you want to avoid losing items upon death or prefer an easier way to catch Pals, setting up your Palworld server properly is crucial. Review the official difficulties below to understand them better, then explore custom settings to find what best suits your needs.

Difficulty Settings

Casual:

Ideal for a relaxing gameplay experience.
Abundant resources and increased rates for catching Pals.
Battles are smooth and easy.

Pals have more health.
If you die, you drop all equipment and must retrieve it, but keep your party Pals.

Pals are harder to catch and more difficult to find in the wild.
