How To Change The Building Decay On Your Rust Server

In Rust, buildings are usually maintained and managed by a tool cupboard, which consumes resources to repair structures as they deteriorate or are damaged. If players don't play frequently, this can lead to significant resource consumption; therefore, reducing the decay rate can help conserve materials. Conversely, on high-population servers with frequent player turnover, setting a high building decay rate can free up space for new members to settle in.

Step 1: Go to your NameHero Client Area and head over to the Advanced Game Panel by clicking the blue button as seen in the screenshot within the NameHero Client Area. Here you will be accessing the Startup tab**.**

Step 2: In the Startup tab, scroll down until you find the Additional Arguments section. In here you will be entering a command.

Step 3: Enter +decay.scale "<value>" into the Addition Arguments field.

Note: A value of "0.5" would cut the speed in half, "2" would make buildings decay twice as fast, and "0" would turn off decay entirely.

**Step 4:** Restart your server!
