How To Change Your Minecraft Game Mode
Minecraft servers offer five distinct game modes: Survival, Creative, Adventure, Hardcore, and Spectator. Each mode provides a unique gameplay experience:
Survival: Players must gather materials to build and craft items and tools. Managing health and hunger is crucial for a true survival experience.
Creative: Players have unlimited access to nearly all blocks and items, can destroy them instantly, are invulnerable, and can fly.
Adventure: This mode is ideal for adventure maps. Players can interact with objects like levers and buttons and with mobs. However, they can only break blocks with tools that have a CanDestroy data tag and place blocks if the block they are holding has a CanPlaceOn data tag.
Hardcore: Similar to Survival mode but with the difficulty locked on "Hard". Upon death, players are permanently sent to Spectator mode. Setting up Hardcore mode requires a specific process, detailed in a related article.
Spectator: Players can fly through blocks, view the world from the perspective of other entities by left-clicking on them, and are invisible to everyone except other spectators. They can't interact with blocks, entities, or their inventory. In third-person view, they appear as a transparent, floating head. The scroll wheel adjusts flying speed, offering more control than in Creative mode.
Please note that changing your game mode to 'Spectator' can only be done through commands and not via server settings.
Step 1: Go to your NameHero Client Area and head over to the Advanced Game Panel by clicking the blue button as seen in the screenshot within the NameHero Client Area. Here you will be accessing the Files tab**.**
Step 2: Once you are in the files tab, scroll towards the bottom until you find the server.properties file. Click on this file to open it.
Step 3: Scroll down until you find the gamemode field (line 20) and change this to your desired game mode.
Step 4: Restart your server and enjoy!
You can change your player’s game mode through both the server console and in-game chat.
