How To Configure A Modded Minecraft Server
Setting up a modded Minecraft server can be an exciting venture, offering a customized and enhanced gameplay experience for you and your friends. Whether you're looking to add new dimensions, create intricate automation systems, or introduce a variety of new creatures and items, modding opens up a world of possibilities. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to configure a modded Minecraft server.
Step 1: When purchasing a NameHero Minecraft server, please make sure to select Modded / Forge game option at checkout. If you forgot to select this option, no worries! Simply login and submit a ticket with us and we can update this for you.
**Step 2:** Once you have purchased your Minecraft server, Go to your NameHero Client Area and stop your Minecraft server.
Step 2: Head over to the Advanced Game Panel by clicking the blue button as seen in the screenshot above within the NameHero Client Area. Here you will be accessing the Modpacks tab.
Step 3: Once at this page, here you will be able to search and select the modpack you want to install. Once you find the modpack you want to install, click the download button to the right of the modpack.
Step 4: After clicking the download button, you will be prompted with another screen to select the version of the modpack. Make sure to SELECT DELETE FILES. This will delete all files on the server to make sure it is a clean install. If you have any important files, save them before doing this. Click the install modpack button and wait for the installation to process.
**Note:** For certain versions of Minecraft, you will need to change settings like java version and jar file. Any modpack that is on Minecraft 1.17 or below will need a .jar file selected. Please also make sure the Java docker image is correct for the version of Minecraft.
