How to Configure Thunderbird with Heroicmail

The Thunderbird Mail Client fully integrates with Heroicmail! You can have full syncing of your email, contacts, calendars, tasks! If your domain name and dns is already hosted with NameHero, you are ready to go! If your DNS is external, you'll need to make sure you have all the proper DNS records to take advantage of all that Heroicmail and Thunderbird have to offer.

Step 1: Open up Thunderbird to add a new Mailbox. If you already use Thunderbird with other mailboxes find the 'gear' icon, go to Account Actions, from menu click "Add Mail Account".

Step 2: Type in Your full name, email address and password. Once you do that, the option to "Configure manually" will appear. Click on that!

Step 3: The screen will now expand and allow you to enter in the appropriate mail server settings as you see them here. Use IMAP with incoming and outgoing Hostname: mail.heroicmail.com. Be sure to use SSL/TLS for both incoming and outgoing with the appropriate ports 993 for incoming and 465 for outgoing. Then click the "Re-test" button at the bottom!

Step4: Almost done! This is easy! After you hit the "Re-test" you should see a green confirmation at the top!

Step 5: Now click Done! (but you are not quite done yet!) The best is yet to come!

Step 6: If all your SRV dns records are in place and you have gotten to this point, here is where the heroicmail really shines! Now click on "Connect" for Contacts, Calendar, Journal and Task! Then click Finish at the bottom!

If you have made it this far, you are good to go! You can now enjoy Synced Email, Contacts, Calendar and Task in Thunderbird! If you have an iPhone or iPad you can sync those too!
