How To Install Mods On Your Project Zomboid Server

Installing mods on a Project Zomboid server can bring a range of benefits to both server admins and players and allow you to customize your server. In this article we will go over the steps on how to install mods.


Step 1: Launch Project Zomboid


Step 2: Open the Steam Workshop


Step 3: Subscribe to the mods you would like

Step 4: Return to Project Zomboid and open the Host menu.


Step 5: Select Manage Settings

Step 6: Select Create New Settings

Step 7: Enter desired name

Step 8: Click Next


Step 9: On the left side, select Steam Workshop

Step 10: Add desired mods and click save


Step 11: Go to the local directory listed on the server settings.

Step 12: Open the .ini file with the matching name

Step 13: On the Mods= line, copy the mods

Step 14: On the **WorkshopItems= **line, copy the IDs


Step 15: Go to your NameHero Client Area. Head over to the Advanced Game Panel by clicking the blue button as seen in the screenshot within the NameHero Client Area. Here you will be accessing the Files tab.


Step 16: Once in the **files **tab, head to ** /home/container/.cache/server ** open the ini for the server


Step 17: Paste / enter the mods on line 55 and workshop ids on line **182 ** and save

Step 18: Start the server and connect to it. Once connecting / connected, It will ask the player to install the mods if they do not already have them.
