How To Whitelist Players On Your Project Zomboid Server

Whitelisting players on your Project Zomboid server ensures that only approved individuals can join your game. This is especially useful for private servers or communities where you want to limit access to a trusted group. In this guide, we will walk you through the process of setting up and managing a player whitelist on your Project Zomboid server.

Step 1: Go to your NameHero Client Area. You can also head over to the Advanced Game Panel by clicking the blue button as seen in the screenshot within the NameHero Client Area. Here you will be accessing the Files tab.



Step 2: Stop your server

Step 3: Once in the Files tab, Locate the following file / directory. /home/container/.cache/server/pterodactyl.ini open this file.



Step 4: Once in this file, on line 13. Change Open=false


Step 5: Restart your server.

Step 6: To add or remove players, you can enter the following commands in the console / terminal.

1. Run the following command in the console to add a player to the whitelist:

AddUser <username> <password>

2. Run the following command in the console to remove a player from the whitelist:

RemoveUserFromWhitelist <username>
