How To Use SFTP To Upload Files / Folders

When managing game servers, efficient file transfers are crucial. SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) offers significant advantages over traditional file upload methods via the advanced game panel. With SFTP, you can upload larger files and entire folders, streamlining your workflow. Additionally, SFTP provides faster transfer speeds, ensuring that your files reach the server quickly and securely. This guide will walk you through using SFTP, highlighting how it can enhance your game server management experience.

Step 1: First, Please make sure you have an SFTP client installed. We recommend using FileZilla.

Step 2: After installing and opening Filezilla, head over to the Advanced Game Panel by clicking the blue button as seen in the screenshot above within the NameHero Client Area. Here you can also access information like your sFTP password.

Step 3: Once you access the Advanced Game Panel, head over to the Settings tab at the top. Here you will see the sFTP information you need for FileZilla.

Step 4: Open FileZilla, In FileZilla at the top of the application, you will see a section that has boxes to enter Host, Username, Password and Port. Here is where you will type in the information you obtained from the Advanced Game Panel. Host = Server Address, Username = Username, Password = sFTP password, Port = Port in server address

**Step 5:** Once entering this information, click the quick connect button. If completed successfully, you will see files & folders on the middle right side of FileZilla. Here you can upload the desired files / folders onto the server.
