Name Hero Game Panel Guide
The NameHero Game Panel is a powerful and user-friendly tool designed to help you manage your game servers with ease. Whether you're setting up a new server or tweaking settings on an existing one, this panel provides all the necessary features in an intuitive layout. The main dashboard gives you quick access to essential tools, including server configuration, file management, and backup options. You can easily navigate through tabs to manage players, install mods, and monitor server performance. This guide will walk you through the basics of the Game Panel, ensuring you know where to find everything you need.
The first place to get started will be the Client Area. Here you can see all basic information of the server and do some key functions like start, stop or restart your server. In this area you can also get useful information like your SFTP password. Server address and port, see if the server is online or offline, and access the advanced game panel where you can do more tweaking of server settings and configurations. On the left hand side, you can access the game switcher which allows you to change your servers game or build, change your SFTP password, and Upgrade / Downgrade your services. This area is perfect for quick actions, getting server connection information or accessing the advanced game panel for more features.
The advanced game panel is what we will be focusing the most on for this article. Here you can do many different things like running commands in the terminal, seeing more detailed stats of your server, change / modify configurations and files, creating sub users to access the panel, 1 click installers for certain games and many more features. This will be the best area to configure your server to your likings.
To get to the advanced game panel, first head over to the client area, here on the right side you will see a big blue button labeled "Advanced Game Panel". Click this to access the panel.
The first thing that you will be greeted with when clicking this button is the main screen of the advanced game panel. Here you can access things like the support to create a ticket, discord server, account details and your server. In the middle of the screen you will be able to see your server and some key information about the server like IP address, resource usage and name of server. If you click on the server, this will take you to the next screen to access the essential area to modify / configure your server.
Once clicking on your server, you will be greeted with this screen.
There is a lot of information on this page that can help you out with setting up / configuring your server. Please make sure to check out our other game specific help articles to get a more in depth tutorial on how to change certain settings. In the middle of your screen you will be greeted with the console or terminal. This can give you vital information about the server and other details like who has connected, any errors, chat logs etc. To the right of this and below, you can see there are 3 buttons at the top to start, stop and restart your server as well as server details like IP address, uptime, and server specs.
Heading over to the left navigation bar, Here you can see a lot of different options / areas. Depending on the game, some of these options may not be available and only tailored to specific games. We will be going over the most important / common areas and what the functions of these options are.
Starting at the very top is the home section. This will not be used too much and only has 1 main function, to take you back to the main page to select your server or a different server if you have multiple.
Files is the next up! This is a very important area in the client area. Here you can do many different things like view files on the server, edit specific files, delete and upload, rename and more. This is the area you will be if you need to configure / customize your server.
Moving down the list to the next important section is schedules. This area only has 1 function and that is to set up automated schedules for your server. Examples like this is automatic restarts, automated backups and run specific commands. You can follow our guide here for a more in depth guide.
Users can be a very important area in the client area. Here you can give your friends or others access to your server and the ability to customize or configure your server. Here you can also limit the user to just specific areas / tasks to do.
Backups is a very important area of the advanced game panel. Here you can create backups to save your server information / data incase anything would go wrong and revert back to it at any time. You can have up to 4 saved backups at once and can name them so you know what they are as well as the dates of the backups. We recommend creating frequent backups to ensure your server data is not lost.
The next area of focus is the startup section. This area will vary by game but will have critical information and variables that you can edit and configure to customize your server.
The settings area has very valuable information for things like your SFTP credentials as well as an area where you can change your server name and description for the advanced game panel. This is very useful if you have multiple servers and need to keep track of them! Other features are the debug information and a button to reinstall the server.
The final area of the advanced game panel is activity. This area will give you information on server tasks and what a user has done on the panel. An example of this is "subuser has stopped the server" or "user has deleted file namehero.txt". The activity area can be very important and useful to keep track of subusers and server activity to ensure everything is running smoothly.
